Biography

Rolf Henry Kunz was born in Saxony in Eastern Germany. After studying church music in Hallé and conducting in Leipzig, he worked as repetiteur at the opera houses in Potsdam and Hallé before concentrating on becoming an organ soloist. Whilst organist at the Chuch St. Justinus, the oldest church-building in Frankfurt-am-Main, he established the international organ festival Höchster Orgelsommer, of which he has been artistic director for the past 23 years. Rolf Henry Kunz is in demand internationally as an organ virtuoso and he has made numerous recordings. He has performed many times in Ireland and this evening’s recital will be his second in Tullamore.
